Route 66, Day Two and Three
We are at the Blue Swallow Motel, in Tucumcari, NM. Yesterday we dawdled through AZ, seeing a lot of cool road signs and taking a wonderful detour through the Painted Desert. At the end of that long, dusty day, we were delighted to spend an evening with our old friends N and R in Albuquerque (the friendship is old, not N and R). They have a beautiful adobe home near the University and we had a great time seeing their house and getting caught up. Today we got caught in Santa Fe traffic, lost Route 66 a few times, and decided to call it a day early. Tomorrow we have to really kick it through Texas and most of Oklahoma, to get to St. Louis on Wednesday night. Here are some more photos:

Hey guys! Sounds like you're having fun on a great trip! Harry update: Chris went over this morning and let him out. He spent a lovely Pasadena day outside roaming about, and we just got back from letting him inside. That required a bit of coercion but it worked out fine. :) I hope the rest of your trip continues as good as it has been so far, and we look forward to more pictures! -Cheryl
Thanks for the message! I'm so glad to know that the kitty is in good hands. Better wifi tonight, so more pics for you . . .
